I get what you mean! When I first started with crystals, I kept trying to cleanse malachite in salt wate, only to learn later that it can damage the surface. Lesson learned the hard way! These days I stick to smoke or sound cleansing for the more delicate stones.
Crystal grids also threw me off at first, but I found it easier once I started with simple layouts for intention setting instead of trying to follow complex patterns. Hope this helps!
