Do crystals really hold power?

So a few friends and I had a small get together and one of them was talking about how crystals might connect to other worlds. I’ve always thought they look nice and give off a certain feeling, like they shine in their own way, but I wouldn’t count on them for anything. I like them for how they look, not because I think they have power. I wonder if people sometimes confuse their own feelings with something deeper? Maybe it’s more about what we believe than what the crystals actually do. Thoughts?

for me, crystals are stunning pieces of natural art. I think appreciating them for their long, slow, geological formation(the time and pressure they represent) is a powerful feeling in itself, but it’s a feeling we derive from awe of nature, not from some mystical energy.
It’s okay to love them for their beauty and use them to set an intention, without needing a belief about other worlds

Yeah, I agree with you OP. nothing metaphysical for me, their beauty and the time it took for nature to form those crystals are enough.
It’s that stability and history you can feel in your hand. For me, that's enough of a connection
