How do crystals work?

So, I just inherited a handful of crystals from my grandmother’s collection. They look gorgeous, but now wondering how do crystals actually work? Do different stones have their own superpowers or is it more about the vibes you feel when you hold them?

And here’s my big newbie question: do old crystals still carry energy, or do they need a little recharge after sitting around for years? I’d love to hear your thoughts before I start talking to them like houseplants!

Hi @Lily883! I think it’s more about the vibes you feel. My rose quartz from my grandma sat in a jewelry box for decades. Once I rinsed it and set an intention, it felt warm and comforting again.
