Zodiac signs and gemstones

I always wear my Smoky quartz along with Eye of the Tiger and Homekeys, and I like to cleanse them in fresh water and some sunlight every so often. I see some people relate their zodiac signs with these stones, what do you guys think of that? By the way, i'm also on the lookout for a gem that can help protect me from negative energy and toxicity. Suggestions?

I've paired smoky quartz with tiger's eye before, and it felt grounding. Some folks do tie stones to zodiac signs, but I think intention matters more
