I’ve been messing around with some pairings lately that probably shouldn’t make sense but somehow do. One of the weirder ones I tried was smoky quartz with rose calcite. On paper, it looks like a clash... grounding and heavy with something light and soft. But when I kept them together during journaling, it gave me this steady but forgiving energy that felt weirdly right.
Another one I stumbled into was labradorite and red jasper. Honestly, I expected nothing from that mix, but the combo almost felt like it cut through my mental fog without knocking me flat. Like a push to get things done but still keeping me a little dreamy.
I know books tend to list “approved” pairings, but most of the ones I’ve liked came from random experimentation. Has anyone else had success with combos that shouldn’t really work, at least not according to the usual guides?
