My optic calcite looks weird

I think my optic calcite sphere looks a bit different. It's got this faint, foggy film on it, almost like condensation. I keep it in my living room where it's bright, but the sun doesn't hit it directly.

Am I just imagining things, or is this a thing with calcite crystals? Maybe it's the humidity, even though it's usally dry inside during the winter.

Yep, humidity can actually mess with calcite, making it look foggy. If that happens, just try drying it gently and wiping it with a soft cloth.

I agree with @4uraQrtz that you're seeing some calcification since there's always some humidity even if your home feels dry.
But I think it's cool that your crystal is showing its natural tendencies!
You can try gently wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
If that doesn't work, a slightly damp cloth followed by a thorough drying can help.
Just make sure to be super gentle and don't use any harsh chemicals, as calcite is a relatively soft mineral.
Hopefully, it clears right up for you!
