Hey there, pretty sure you can choose from black tourmaline and onyx for this. It's what I see my friend use whenever she felt like she needed to and according to her it works. I see with my own eyes it really does work.

Selenite will bring in angelic energy and protect the space. But, you may want to see if his room is above a water table intersection, which is very unhealthy as well. Of course, a good dowser is hard to come by.

A crystal may not be all you need. Things may need to be removed, or the room cleansed and blessed.

Black tourmaline or obsidian are my go-to's for clearing out bad vibes. Maybe add one by his bed or under the pillow and see if it changes something.
