Anyone here tried to grow a crystal?

Hi all! I followed a simple alum crystal recipe, but instead of sharp, pretty crystals, I got... potato‑shaped blobs. I’m guessing I rushed the cooling step or maybe bumped the jar too much. Either way, they made me laugh. Any tips?

hi @crystalmage76 potato shaped alum blobs usually mean the solution cooled too fast, was too saturated, or got bumped
to get sharp crystals, cool the supersaturated solution slowly at room temp, disturb it as little as possible, make sure it's pure, and use a good seed crystal for best results
